Reading with Friends
Reading with Friends is a four-week summer reading program where kids, college students, churches, and volunteers connect and grow in community.
Our goal is for children to maintain or raise their reading level during this month by providing specific reading time and engaging reading activities.
About Reading with Friends
Reading with Friends is a four-week summer reading program for students 1st through 5th grade that will help build self-confidence and self-awareness through one-on-one literacy engagement, creative art, recreational activities, and Bible study.
Students will meet Monday through Friday with College-Level Interns and Volunteers working together to strengthen their reading skills. Breakfast, Lunch, and Snacks are provided for all students. Transportation provided by First United Methodist Church is available for students in need.
Registration
The cost to participate is $10/child (max. $20/family). Scholarships are available for families to cover the program cost. Priority and open registration for Reading with Friends 2024 is TBA.
