SLP – The Faculty

THE FACULTY creates a child-centered atmosphere that encourages creativity and initiative. The staff is composed of consistent, qualified, well-trained, and inventive persons dedicated to early childhood professionalism. Although staff members come and go as dictated by the needs of their families and personal lives, the average teacher tenure is currently 10 years! Some of our staff has been with us 20 years or more! Every faculty member shares the vision that the child is the most important person in the school.

Because of the school’s commitment to excellence, all staff members are required to have a teaching certificate and / or an Associates Degree in Child Development (CDA) or be working toward that end. The school supports this requirement with an in house training program and monetary help for staff to complete and maintain this required certification.

In addition, each staff member completes 20 or more in training hours each year to help keep abreast of new developments in our field, and most importantly to put them into practice in our classrooms.
