SLP – The Director
THE DIRECTOR, Faye Canafax, has held this position since 2000. She follows in the high quality legacy left by Sunny Davidson who founded the school in 1965 and directed it for 35 years.
Mrs. Canafax was a teacher at the School for Little People (SLP) for 9 years before becoming the director (although she does still teach from time to time as a director). She holds a degree in voice and music education with all level teacher certification. She also holds special certification for Early Childhood Education. Faye has even been working on her masters in administration as time allows.
Some of her favorite memories are of the wonderful children she has been privileged to teach over the years. She says even being a small part of so many little lives is an awesome responsibility. Therefore, she constantly strives to become a better teacher and director. Try as she might, though, she knows that she will never be able to give the children half as much as they have given her.
