Although the price and deadline are yet to be determined for this fun, annual event sponsored by the YES Committee, you can go ahead and reserve a spot now! There will be great food at the brunch AND you’ll get to see beautifully decorated homes of some of our church members.

As in years past, the YES Committee is sponsoring a trip to the Meyerson Symphony Center in Dallas, Texas for a Christmas Concert. This year, the concert will feature Mary Preston on organ.

Date: December 10, 2009

Time: Leave FUMC at 3:00pm

Cost: $105 (includes chartered bus, dinner, and concert)

June 4, 2009 Café Broadway Declared Best So Far!

Many said it was the best yet! The reason may be that the night was dedicated to Joyce Barham and the many years of service she has given the church as a volunteer and as a staff person!

The delicious menu included pork tenderloin, potato casserole, tangy vegetables, chocolate cherry cake, apple dump cake, rolls, and drinks. Our youth group served as waiters, and in the process, they raised over $700 to go towards their mission trip to Galveston later this month.

The repertoire was diverse with old and very modern Broadway Show Tunes; Old and New Country; Blues, Standards, and Rock ‘n’ Roll Oldies – and just about everything in between! Thank you to the YES (Young Energetic Seniors) and Chancel Choir for sponsoring this awesome event!

Sr. Adult Luncheon – May 3, 2009

The 35th annual Senior Adult Luncheon honoring “the most esteemed members” of FUMC (age 65 and up) will be held at 11:30am, Sunday, May 3rd in Fellowship Hall immediately following the 10:30am worship service.

The complimentary luncheon will feature presentation of recipients of the “Joyce and J.B Barham Volunteer Award,” which recognizes those FUMC seniors who have given outstanding volunteer service to the church.

Also, a musical program will be featured.

The DEADLINE for luncheon reservations for senior members is Sunday, April 26th. Call the church 940-766-4231 for your reservation.

Roadrunner Trips – Periodic Events

Traveling on YES Roadrunner Trips is one of the most fun things we do. We have had overnight trips to such places as Nachez (MS), Branson (MO), Texas Hill Country, Salado, and Palo Duro Canyon, as well as many day trips to the Dallas Meyerson Symphony Center, Fort Worth Kimbell Museum, Granbury Opera House, Bass Performance Hall, and more.
