1064 pounds of our church (that is nine children, one youth and two adults) visited the Wichita Falls Area Food Bank where they delivered aluminum cans, took a tour, and folded plastic bags for the Students Against Hunger Annual Food Drive.
Ten children, one youth, and two adults got to enjoy the cool as well as delivering aluminum cans, taking a tour of the facility, and preparing plastic bags for their annual school year food drive. We spent all afternoon playing together at Jump for Joy.
All good things must come to an end, but was it really an end? Our theme today was CELEBRATE GOD FOREVER. So, even though VBS ended, it is also a beginning as the children continue to celebrate God through the rest of their lives with what they learned this week!
I will cause your name to be celebrated in all generations; therefore, the peoples will praise you forever and ever.
Psalm 45:17
We are grateful for all the children, youth, and adults who made this such a special week. We also thank parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, brothers, sisters, friends, etc. that brought the children reach day to “Shake it Up Cafe!”
Today’s “catch phrase” was REMEMBER JESUS OFTEN, and we focused on Jesus’ last supper with the key verse being Luke 22:19b:
Do this in remembrance of me.
We’ve really enjoyed this week with about 150 kids and about 65 volunteers (adults and youth) who have made this all possible.
Tomorrow (Friday), we’ll have a closing ceremony in the Sanctuary where the kids will sing for family and friends. After that, we’ll share together in a pizza celebration in the Atrium! It’ll be GREAT!
Our “catch phrase” for the day was BELIEVE FULLY, and our key verse was John 14:1b where Christ says:
Trust God; also trust me!
It has been great to see around 150 kids participating in VBS this year, and we are hoping for more tomorrow. If you have friends or family age 4-grade 5 (completed), bring them along!
Today, we learned to “give happily to God,” and our “Bible Bite” for the day was Hebrews 13:16:
Don’t forget to do good and to share what you have, for God is pleased with these kinds of sacrifices. (CEB)
We also considered the many Jewish festival (or holidays) discussed in Leviticus 23.
IT IS NOT TOO LATE for children to come and participate! So, if you missed the first day, no problem! If you’ve got a friend you’d like to bring, bring them tomorrow! We hope to see you!
