June 9, 2010 marked a first for the North Texas Annual Conference as, in addition to the normal business of the conference, a mission work day was held to help members of the conference (including our Bishop, District Superintendents, and Extended Cabinet) practice what we preach. FUMC folk participated in all of the projects:
- Cooking Breakfast (Connie Rosenburg & Erica Conner)
- Painting the Riverside Cemetery Fence (Erica Conner, Rev. Pellikan, and children of Adventures in Mission (AIM-1))
- Texas Ramp Project 1 (Rev. Sims)
- Texas Ramp Project 2 (Alan Ballard & former Youth Pastor, Dana Coker)
- Texas Ramp Project 3 (Elizabeth Yeager)
- Imagine No Malaria Car Wash (Youth of FUMC)
In fact Jeff Ginn and our youth spearheaded this event that raised over $300 to help eradicate malaria on the continent of Africa by 2015)

Danny Kislin is no stranger to FUMC, as he has taught many Adult Sunday School and Confirmation Classes about the religion of Jesus: Judaism. Likewise, he has attended worship here, often, with his wife, Mimi and daughter Danielle.
Danny’s training in his Jewish faith began as a child in Hebrew School, and it continued in a seminary in Israel as a young adult. Recently, at the encouragement of the House of Jacob Synagogue, where he has been serving as the Spiritual Leader for several years, he took up his studies again through the Rabbinical Seminary International.
Having now completed his studies, Danny will be ordained a Rabbi in a ceremony on July 1, 2010 at The Actors Temple in New York City. That is a great accomplishment!
CONGRATULATIONS DANNY!

As you can see in the picture, they prayed as a group before they left, but we ask that you pray for them as well over this coming week. They will be returning late on Friday, June 18.
