There are many aspects to our Children’s Ministries. In all of these, we strive to create a nurturing environment so that all children may come to be more aware of God’s love for them while they also develop their God-given gifts and abilities for service to the church and others!

Advent Mission Project for Grades 1-6 – December 3, 2011
AIM / Kingdom Kids Mission Project
- Advent Edition for grades 1-6!
We will make gifts for a local children’s home, deliver them, and have a tour of the facility.
- 9:00am-2:00pm
- Cost: $3 for lunch.
- Parents are encouraged to stay and help!
- If you have not filled out a release form in the past year, print one out HERE, and turn it in to Kim English!

Advent Study for Grades 4-6 – November 16, 2011
Grades 4-6 (including the 5th-6th grade Seekers of MORE) will learn the meaning of Advent as a part of MORE on Wednesday, November 16, 2011!
Our Children’s Director, Kim English, will help them answer these questions:
- What is Advent?
- How is it different than Christmas?
- How do we celebrate it?

Texas Giant Sized Fun at Six Flags – October 10, 2011
(Seekers of MORE reporting) The 5th-8th graders went to Fright Fest at Six Flags on October 10, 2011. We rode many rides and played many games. Below is a drawing we made inspired by the cool rollercoasters there.

SLP Fall Festival is Here!! Come and Join Us!!! – October 25, 2011
Tuesday, October 25th
5:30pm – Costume Parade
6:00pm - Dinner in the Park
Adults $6.00 Children $3.00
Please join us for an evening of family fun!
Drop off your child in the atrium between 5:00 and 5:15pm. If your child stays in Extended Care until 5:00, you may send his or her costume to school, and we will dress them.
Travis Street will be closed (in front of the church) at 4:45pm for the parade, please park in the parking lot and walk your child inside.
The costume parade will begin at 5:30pm. Bring chairs for a front row seat. The children will parade on the sidewalks, so please set your seats and camera’s in the street area.
Hamburgers and Hot Dogs will be served in the park at 6:00pm. Table seating is limited so bring a blanket for your family picnic!

There will a photography booth in the park for pictures of your child or family!

This fun musical was originally written by Andrew Lloyd Weber for a friend’s son’s prep school production. It is the Old Testament story of Jacob and his 12 sons (including their wives and children), and, of course, Joseph’s coat . Pharoah and Mr. & Mrs. Potiphar help the plot to thicken!
The Music Ministry of FUMC will present this multi-generational musical with over 45 children, youth, and adults in the cast with many more assisting on costumes, tech crew, etc.
This is our gift to our church and community:
- Admission is FREE
- Nursery is available by reservation only.
Nursery reservation must be received by Thursday, November 10.
