There are many aspects to our Children’s Ministries. In all of these, we strive to create a nurturing environment so that all children may come to be more aware of God’s love for them while they also develop their God-given gifts and abilities for service to the church and others!

Each year at SLP we celebrate the wonderful season of Christmas by sharing the story of Christ’s birth with the children. We tell the story with books, songs, dress-up and felt board reenactments, and any way we can think of to allow the children to experience the story and make it part of their perception of Christmas.
As a culmination, we encourage the children to dress-up in costume and act out the story.
We invite parents and family to come and share the story reenactment with us. Each class has been given a time to celebrate. Please come and enjoy this experience with your child.

All children in grades 1-6 (and available parents) are encouraged to attend this event on Wednesday, December 7, 2011 from 3:45-5:30pm as the children carol in our community, bringing joy to those who hear!
To make sure we have enough transportation and adult supervision, the DEADLINE to register is December 4, 2011!

You won’t want to miss this special service of lessons and carols with a live nativity brought to you by the Choirs of FUMC.
Also, come early (9:00-10:15am) to share tasty Christmasy breakfast treats at “Cafe Le Paul: Advent Edition” in the Atrium. Bring any breakfast item you like to share!

The sanctuary was packed for this production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat that brought together 48 performers – not to mention directors, stage and tech crew, and others who worked behind the scenes to bring this great event to fruition.
If you missed the performance, you missed a really fun time as the inspirational story of the Joseph was told in song! It was great to see so many people from our community in our church who do not usually attend here. What a great outreach! Special thanks to Judy Braddy for set painting!
