About the Preschool Class

  • At First United Methodist, we take teaching children seriously. We want to give preschoolers (age 3-5) the same opportunities for learning about God that older children get; however, at the same time, we realize that they learn differently and need things to be at their level. Cindy Press, the primary teacher of this class, knows how to do this well!

Who teaches this class?

  • Cindy Press is the primary teacher, and she is often assisted by her husband Bryan. Cindy continues to be one of our most consistent and compassionate Sunday School teachers, and she takes this responsibility seriously while making the children feel loved and welcome while they have fun and learn.

What is used to guide this class?i

  • Our teacher, Cindy, uses a curriculum called Rock Solid, written especially for preschool children. In addition to the curriculum, Cindy always sets aside a short worship / prayer time for the children.

Where does the Preschool Class take place?

  • This class is held on the second floor of the Education Wing in room 204 of FUMC.

What time does the Preschool Class meet?

  • This class meets from 9:15 to 10:15 each Sunday morning. To make it easier for you, the teacher can take your child to the Nursery on the first floor after class (of course, your child is always welcome in worship, too). This can make it easier for you to make it to 10:30 Worship.

$742.48 Raised for PowerPaks by Children – September 11, 2011

Our Children’s Sunday School worked together today to sell lemonade after the 10:30am Worship Service to raise money for PowerPaks 4 Kids, a project of the Wichita Falls Area Food Bank, that provides food for disadvantaged children in our community on weekends.  It cost about $170 / child per year to provide this service.

By raising $742.48, our children provided this service for a little over 4 children!  Way to go!

Sunday School in the Park on September 4, 2011

Preschool Class Wins 2nd Place in Chili / Dessert Cookoff

Would you believe that the Preschool Class entered chili and lemon bars in the Missions Committee Chili / Dessert Cookoff Fundraiser?  Not only that, but they won 2nd place for presentation.  Their decorative theme was penguins!

Because they won second place, the class received donut holes and orange juice for breakfast!  Good job Preschool Class (and teachers, Cindy & Brian Press).
