We have three choirs for children of different ages to participate in Music Ministries at FUMC. All three meet for rehearsal on Wednesday afternoons and follow the following schedule:
3:45-4:00pm is SNACK TIME;
4:00-4:45pm Cherub Choir (Age 4-Kindergarten) rehearses with Tammy Sparks;
4:00-4:45pm Trinity Choir (Grades 1-3) rehearses with Kristen Gossett;
4:45-5:30pm Wesley Choir (Grades 4-6) rehearses with Kristen Gossett and Abi Parker.
While the Cherub & Trinity Choirs rehearse from 4:00-4:45pm, the 4th-6th Graders participate in a high-activity Bible Study known as MORE with Rev. Lydia Pellikan. Likewise from 4:45-5:30pm, children age 4 through 3rd Grade take part in the MORE Bible Study, also with Rev. Lydia Pellikan. To learn more about that program, CLICK HERE!
The Cherub, Trinity, and Wesley Choirs rehearse throughout the school year and often help to lead us in worship. In addition, these choirs culminate the first Wednesday in May when they present a children’s musical!

We are pleased that you are considering music classes for your child. Research has shown that we are all born with an aptitude for music, but that aptitude diminishes if it is not actively nurtured between the ages of birth and nine.
The Musikgarten classes are designed to nurture a child’s music aptitude by engaging children and their families in singing and movement activities which help attune the ear, refine the voice, and develop a rhythmic body through which music can be expressed. Additionally, instrumental activities are part of the program, ranging from playing simple rhythm instruments such as sticks and drums for babies and toddlers to playing keyboards for older children.
Musikgarten is the only program that offers curricula for newborns through group piano instruction. It is based on a keen understanding of how children learn, in both a general sense and, specifically, how they learn music.
As you familiarize yourself with our class offerings and learn more about Musikgarten, we look forward to answering your questions and welcoming your family to Musikgarten!
