What a great Christmas Gift for our kids and kids in need in our community!
On Saturday, December 3, 2011, nineteen children (grades 1-6), one youth, and nine adults – all representing our church – helped make gifts of “love bags” for young people of the Children’s Home and Teen Shelter to carry their belongings. They then delivered these gifts, got a tour of the Children’s Home, and sang a couple of Christmas carols for the children there!
Our Children’s Sunday School worked together today to sell lemonade after the 10:30am Worship Service to raise money for PowerPaks 4 Kids, a project of the Wichita Falls Area Food Bank, that provides food for disadvantaged children in our community on weekends. It cost about $170 / child per year to provide this service.
By raising $742.48, our children provided this service for a little over 4 children! Way to go!
1064 pounds of our church (that is nine children, one youth and two adults) visited the Wichita Falls Area Food Bank where they delivered aluminum cans, took a tour, and folded plastic bags for the Students Against Hunger Annual Food Drive.
Ten children, one youth, and two adults got to enjoy the cool as well as delivering aluminum cans, taking a tour of the facility, and preparing plastic bags for their annual school year food drive. We spent all afternoon playing together at Jump for Joy.
