VBS Finishes Strong at FUMC!

Posted on July 19th, 2009 by tsims

Another awesome Vacation Bible School ended on Friday, July 17, 2009!  A total of 134 children participated with dozens volunteering to make this week’s event a success!

The kids raised over $200 to benefit the PowerPak 4 Kids Program, which provides weekend food for less fortunate children during the school year.  That was amazing work!  In addition, they filled the back of a full-sized pickup truck with aluminum cans, which the Wichita Falls Area Food Bank will sell to promote their programs!

Friday, the kids had a real treat as Bahama Bucks brought their snowcone trailer for the kids snacks – YUM!  In addition, the day ended with a celebration of 4 songs from VBS sung in the Sanctuary and a pizza party held in the Atrium.  Good stuff!

Loving God and Others Theme for Thursday of VBS!

Posted on July 16th, 2009 by tsims

On Thursday, July 16, the children of VBS learned about loving God and others!  Their Bible story was about Jesus washing his disciple’s feet.  Many of the children had their feet washed as well!  What a blessing!  It is sad to think there is only one day left of VBS!

Tuesday at VBS Was Even Better Than Monday!

Posted on July 14th, 2009 by tsims

So far, we are up to 125 children (age 4-grade 5) who have participated in Camp E.D.G.E. Vacation Bible School (and this doesn’t include the countless adult and youth volunteers who make this event possible)!  Today the kids learned about the day’s motto:  “God guides me.  I will follow.”  The Bible story was that of the Magi being led to the birth of Jesus by a star.  God guides us, too (even if not by a star).

Of note, the 4th & 5th grade “Brown Team” went to Faith Mission for a tour and to clean dining room chairs & the chapel.  A few even helped serve staff and volunteers lunch!

It’s not too late to register!  You can do that below!  You can also learn more about Monday’s events by CLICKING HERE.
