Young Adults Have Great Time at Halloween Progressive Party

Saturday, October 31, 2009 saw 15 young adults dressed for Halloween and sharing a progressive dinner!

They started at Tanja Haarman’s for appetizers:  Enchilada Meat Balls, Pinwheels, Cookies, and Tortellini!

For the entree, they went to Jonathan Pyles’ and Brandon Vaughns for Brisket, Green Beans, and Mashed Potatoes.  While there, Jonathan also finished his glowing pumpkin!

For dessert and games, they went to Will Barksdale’s and Matt Lowe’s where they had a luscious 4-layer Dessert and Ice Cream.

More importantly, though, in addition to the great food, they also shared great fellowship!

Check out pictures below!

New Study Sparks Discussion for Young Adults

NOOMAOn Sunday, October 25, 2009, the Young Adult Singles started a new, video-driven study series called NOOMA.  The first session was entitled RAIN, and the theme discussed how we make it through the “rain” (the hard times) of life.  It became clear as the discussion developed that we cannot make it on our own; we need God and God working through others to help us.

Please, invite young adult singles that you know to take part in this Sunday evening study!

PowerPaks 4 Kids Gets Underway

After a slow start this year, we received our first shipment of food on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 to provide PowerPaks (weekend food) for less fortunate children at Alamo School.  That evening the Jr. High Bible Study youth packed the 98 packs (a number that will continue to grow over the ensuing weeks).   Many thanks to the Jr. High for getting us started!

Then, on Thursday, October 22, Bonnie Davis (our PowerPak volunteer coordinator) and Courtney Grimes delivered the packs.

The Young Adult Singles will pack next week, but maybe you are interested in volunteering to help pack or deliver the PowerPaks.  If so, fill out the form below, or contact Rev. Sims (940-766-4231, x229 or tsims@fumcwf.org) or Bonnie Davis (767-0648).
