Fidelis Sunday School Class

About our class:

  • We are a friendly, close-knit group of women, ages 60 and up who share a class spirit that is faithful to study and spiritual development. As a part of this, we are active in supporting the general ministries of the church. One way we support the church is through a weekly offering that supports not only FUMC but also affiliate programs and other charities.
  • Our class formed in 1965 when the Dorcas and Friendship Classes combined. Similarly, in 1989, we combined with the Bethany Class, and in 2003 the B.O.P. class joined us.
  • We invite women of any age to share in this class with us.

What do we study?

  • To guide us in our study of the Bible, we use the Adult Bible Study series, also known as the International Lesson Series. It presents stimulating lessons that explore the biblical message and how to apply it to daily life. It moves from a focus on the Word of God to reflection on personal, family, church, and community concerns.

Where does the Fidelis Class meet?

  • We meet on the the first floor of the Education Wing in room 110, just inside the Education Entrance to the left.

What time do we meet?

  • Our class meets from 9:15 to 10:00 each Sunday morning, allowing time for members to attend either the 8:30 or 10:30am Worship Services at FUMC.

Fellowship Activities:

  • In addition to our fellowship in class, we also share in two social activities a year:
    • A Spring Luncheon; and
    • A Christmas Luncheon.

Then, Payton Beggs (a Junior at Old High) took the stage, wowing the honorees with her beautiful voice on old-time and modern country tunes.

Next, awards were given:
