From time to time, we offer classes that are not particularly “spiritual” in nature but are useful for our own growth in knowledge and abilities. This is the page to come to in order to learn more about these types of classes.
The YES Committee of FUMC has arranged for an
- AARP Drivers Safety Class

- Location: Room 17-U (Bi-the-Way Classroom)
in the Undercroft of FUMC
- Cost for AARP Members: $12
- Cost for military personnel, veterans, and spouses: FREE with proof of service
- Cost for all others: $14
This class is open to ANY licensed driver.
No pre-registration required; just show up.
Coffee and light refreshments will be provided.
Lunch from 12:00-1:00pm is on your own.

UM101 is a free, basic online course designed for new United Methodists and anyone wanting to know more about the denomination. Each of the four modules contains interactive features and takes about one hour to complete. Led by minister Tom Slack. Upon successful completion, learners are awarded .4 SACEM CEU.
The course dates are August 3 – September 14, 2011, but you need to register by August 3, 2011.

The House of Jacob Synagogue here in Wichita Falls has invited our church to hear Jack Repp, a Holocaust survivor, speak at their facility:

- 2:00pm
This is a part of Yom Hashoah, Holocaust Days of Remembrance.
Repp was born in 1923 in Radom, Poland and lived in the Radom ghetto at the beginning of the Nazi occupation. He also worked in the munitions factory. Repp was transported to several different labor and concentration camps including Auschwitz and Staldach. He was liberated by American troops in 1945, arrived in the U.S. in 1949, and settled in Dallas in 1950.
