FUMC Relay for Life Team Raised $2,483
This was the first year that FUMC had an official American Cancer Society Relay for Life Team to raise money and awareness for the elimination of cancer. We had 20 official team members who raised money and walked at the event held at McNiel Jr. High on June 5-6, 2009. As of this writing, the FUMC team raised $2,483, and their goal was only $1,000. In addition, we had many support folk (especially some FUMC youth) who came out to McNiel Jr. High for the event to support the team and to even help walk! Paul & Carol Ellis provided us water, Gatorade, and snack crackers to help us make it through the night of fun.
Special thanks go to Trudy Wilcox for being a WONDERFUL team captain who kept us in the know and cheered us on. We hope you’ll join us next year to help bring an end to cancer!
