Helen Riddle Passed Away Friday, September 3, 2010
Helen Riddle, who joined FUMC on April 10, 1938, entered the next stage of life on Friday, September 3, 2010 at the age of 82.

Born October 29, 1927, to Will and Audrey McKemie of Wichita Falls, Helen attended college at Sweetbriar in Richmond, Va., and graduated from SMU in 1948, as a member of Pi Beta Phi. She married her high school sweetheart, Dr. R.D. “Piggy” Riddle, in August 1948. Her husband and family were Helen’s primary interests, but when her children were grown, she started her 14 year career with Hirschi Realtors. She was widowed in 1996 and retired from Hirschi in 2002.
Helen was a founding member of Unity Club and remained a member for 62 years. She was an active member of First United Methodist Church and Fidelis Sunday School class, spent many years helping with her husband’s work with Scouts, volunteered her time with Junior League of Wichita Falls until she became a sustainer emeritus, participated with Pi Beta Phi Alumnae Assoc., enjoyed playing piano, bridge, and spending time with her family and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, as well as daughter Pam Lamell. She is survived by her son, Dr. Bill Riddle, of Nashville, Tenn., daughter Kay Thomas and her husband Bill of Coppell, Tex., brother Bob McKemie of Dallas, and grandchildren Patrick Riddle, Kyle and Audrey Thomas, and Josef Lamell.

Helen played bells with us in Asbury Ringers for awhile. Later after she stopped playing, she’d always tell me “just watching you makes me nervous again!” She also sold us our home in 1990. Piggy was our vet for years, and I knew their children. She was so wonderful and always had a big smile and friendly greeting for me. I saw her just last Sunday. I will dearly miss her. God bless.
