Juanice Kuhn Passed Away on July 31, 2010
Juanice S. Kuhn, 89, went home to her Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 31, 2010, after a lengthy illness. Her memorial service was 1:30pm Wednesday, August 4, 2010, at First United Methodist Church officiated by Reverend John Dillard. Interment preceded the memorial service at 11:00am in Crestview Memorial Park directed by Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00pm Tuesday, August 3, 2010, at Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home.
Juanice was born May 25, 1921, in Lubbock, Texas, to Horace and Eva Smith. She graduated from Lubbock High School in 1938 and Texas Tech in 1942. She was employed during WWII by Consolidated Aircraft to produce engineering drawings for B-24s. Later, she was employed by a seismic company in Wichita Falls to compute and construct contour maps. She married Edward M. Kuhn in 1943. Upon his return home from overseas, they began their life in Wichita Falls. She was an active member of First United Methodist Church since 1947 and participated in many functions and committees within the church. Most recently, she was co-chairman of the Heritage Committee.
Juanice was a loving and dedicated mother of two children. She participated in many offices and committees concerning school functions including PTA. She also served in several office positions for the Women’s Forum, Wichita Falls Museum, and other community projects.
Juanice is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Edward M. Kuhn; son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Paula Kuhn of Burleson, Texas; grandchildren and their spouses, Bryan Kuhn of Burleson, Texas, Kimberly and Jamie Moss, Logan and Crystal Somes, all of Wichita Falls, Kelly and Matt Davis of Orange County, Calif.; and five great-grandchildren.
Juanice was preceded in death by her daughter, Claudia K. Somes; parents, Mr. and Mrs. H.C. Smith; and brother, Edgar A. Smith.
Juanice was loved deeply by all who knew her and she will be missed dearly.
