Capital Campaign Announced Sunday, March 21, 2010
This past Sunday, March 21, 2010, Rev. Paul Goodrich announced the beginning of a new 2010 Capital Campaign by introducing those who will be serving on the Leadership Team on behalf of the church’s campaign of ministry enhancements for First United Methodist Church. Those introduced included:
- Campaign Directors: Bill & Nan Presson and Frank & Kay Yeager;
- Calling Team Coordinators: Rick Orr & Britt Milstead;
- Advance Commitment Coordinators: Larry Cook & Murphy Davis;
- Communications Coordinators: Joan Gray, Frank Yeager, John Dillard;
- Prayer Support Coordinators: Pat Haywood & Diane Hoskin;
- Major Event Coordinators: Pat Deal, Barbara Milstead, & Lynn Moran;
- Hospitality Coordinators: Danny & Elizabeth Clarke and Rick & Nancy Orr;
- Gathering Coordinators: Steve & Marjean Cox and Mike & Patty Crocker;
- Children & Youth Coordinators: Lydia Pellikan & Jeff Ginn; and
- Administrative Coordinators: Anne Aaron & Linda Beltchev.
Director, Kay Yeager, introduced the campaign by briefly by touching on four areas of focus that the campaign will address:
- Completing The Rock Ministry Building, where youth ministry will primarily take place (former location of Interfaith Ministries) in the parking lot;
- The parking lot itself, which had to be deferred from a previous campaign;
- The main church kitchen; and
- Reduction of debt incurred for major HVAC replacements undertaken since the last capital campaign.
Church members should look for more information this week by mail and on the church website in a letter from Rev. Goodrich outlining the campaign along with a “fact sheet” containing more specific details of the areas of focus.
