Learn How to Understand the Gospel According to John

wordc_1207The Bi-the-Way Sunday School Class will begin a study on Sunday, September 20, 2009 of how to understand the Gospel according to John.  Rev. Troy Sims will lead this study.

In the Synoptic Gospels (Matthew, Mark, and Luke), Jesus primarily talks in short sayings or in parables when he teaches.  However, in John, Jesus is depicted as talking in long speeches with deep metaphorical meanings.  Jesus in John gets quite upset when people take these too literally.

This distinction is just one of many differences in these books of the Bible; thus, John needs to be read and interpreted differently than the other 3 Gospels.  This study will help you know how to do it!  Join us!
